Drawing Update

It’s Tuesday, but it’s been a while. I’ve been sick and busy and so on, but here’s what I’ve been doing over the last couple of weeks…

The next two are of an awesome lady tattooing at the Sydney Tattoo and Body Art Expo (Gemma Pallat). Two slightly different takes, and both would have been better if people hadn’t been standing in the way… but that happens at an expo…

The next couple of drawings is me trying to focus on faces. I’m getting happier with how bodies are coming along and enjoying the proportion, but I need to do a lot more work on faces. Here is some practice…

The next couple are back to bodies from drawing last night…

And now I think this may be one of, if not the, best drawings I have ever done. It’s a slightly different style, but sometimes it’s nice to move out of your comfort zone.

Drawing Update

Today’s update is still catching up on previous drawings. This collection is a few drawings I’ve done outside the life drawing night. I tried to capture a few people on the street, in the crowd or on the train.

And now for something completely different.

I like to experiment with other media from time to time. And my son was given some coloured charcoal pencils for xmas, so I thought I’d have a go at using them. It supposed to be a portrait of my Mum’s dog (Spencer) that was based on a photo.

It turned out okay. Below is a photo of the end result. It’s also nice to actually do something from start to finish as I’m mostly doing practice these days. I’m not entirely happy with the end result, but it’s not too shabby for a medium I don’t use. Anyhow, you be the judge (or critic, I should say).
